Liputan6.com, Jakarta - Berdasarkan laporan terbaru, perusahaan-perusahaan di kawasan Asia Pasifik (APAC) semakin menyadari bahwa arsitektur cloud terpusat tidak lagi memadai untuk memenuhi tuntutan skala, kecepatan, dan regulasi yang terus meningkat.

Untuk tetap kompetitif dan siap mengadopsi kecerdasan buatan (AI), para pelaku bisnis kini perlu memperkuat strategi infrastruktur mereka dengan mengintegrasikan layanan edge computing.

Menurut isi dari makalah penelitian berjudul “The Edge Evolution: Powering Success from Core to Edge,” dikutip Rabu (3/9/2025), layanan cloud publik untuk edge computing diperkirakan akan mengalami pertumbuhan signifikan.

Menurut IDC Worldwide Edge Spending Guide — Forecast, 2025, pengeluaran untuk layanan ini diproyeksikan mencapai USD 29 miliar pada 2028, dengan tingkat pertumbuhan tahunan gabungan (CAGR) sebesar 17 persen.

Lebih lanjut, IDC memprediksi bahwa pada 2027, 80 persen Chief Information Officer (CIO) akan beralih dari penyedia cloud tradisional ke layanan edge untuk memenuhi kebutuhan performa dan kepatuhan dalam inferensi AI.

Pergeseran ini menandai apa yang disebut sebagai "Evolusi Edge".
